Springkell House - Care Home in Hindhead, Surrey

Springkell House in Hindhead is a Victorian building retaining many original features despite being extensively and sympathetically refurbished, adapted and equipped recently to provide the comforts and care required by present day living. Standing in its own well landscaped grounds, overlooking the Golden Valley, close to the delightful “Devils Punch Bowl”, our location encourages our residents to take full advantage of the air purity of “little Switzerland” and the nearby National Trust land.

Services Offered

We can provide specialist care for up to 34 elderly people of both sexes with Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. We recognise that for people with dementia there are special considerations that we need to be particularly sensitive to and that, for many, residents they still can retain ability. We staff fully qualified and trained in dementia care activities, thus bringing long-term experience and expertise.

We can also provide short-term respite care or day care.

Fees

Fees vary according to the room chosen, care requirement and facilities available such as en-suite, ground floor etc. Fees quoted below are minimum fees per service user and covers accommodation, full board, laundry, in house activities and most importantly complete Residential Care.

Standard Single Room per week Minimum £450.00

En suite Single Room per week Minimum £500.00

District Nurse Service

We have regular visits from district nurses and community practitioners to meet any clinical needs of our residents.

GP Service

Our Home is well served by a local Doctors practice in Grayshott. Residents may continue to use the services of their own GP, if they are registered with a local practice and their GP is in agreement.

Laundry

Personal laundry is performed in the Home using our own facilities, at no extra charge. Specialist cleaning, if required, can be arranged, but an additional charge will be incurred. All clothing should be capable of being machine-washed and must be suitably labelled. We request relatives assist us in this process.

Optician and Dental

The services of a visiting optician and a local dentist are available if required.

Hairdressing/Chiropody

Our hairdresser, Barbara, visits the Home weekly and is available to all residents on request and our chiropodist visits every six weeks and sees residents, as necessary. Residents will be invoiced directly for these services.

Newspapers/Magazines

Newspapers/magazines can be arranged and delivered on a daily basis. Residents will be billed monthly, in arrears, for this service.

Religious Service

The services of chaplains from various denominations are available. Holy Communion is held weekly or fortnightly, by local clergy, or as required by the resident.

Activities and Welfare

A comprehensive and varied activities programme, designed to stimulate the need of all our residents is arranged by our in house activities co-ordinator.

Activities range from indoor ball games to garden games.

We also have frequent outings such as garden trips, Christmas light viewing etc... to suit the season.

PAT dog visits weekly.

We also have Summer Garden parties and Christmas parties where friends, family and practitioners are invited.

External agencies and volunteers are encouraged to come in and offer their services.

Participation and Involvement

To ensure our residents have as normal a life as possible we encourage participation of friends and families of our residents.

Newsletters are produced and distributed regularly.

Location and Surroundings

The home is located in a village setting where the life is tranquil and peaceful. There is a village pub, post office, shops and churches within walking distance. The staff and residents are known in the village and are very much part of the community.

The main A3, connecting the South coast and major motorways is within 2miles reach.
